Meet the Makers

Where Craft Meets Coastal Culture

Aloha and Welcome,

Makau Makers was born from the ocean — shaped by salt air, wood grain, and the laid-back rhythm of life along the Pacific. Our roots trace back to the Big Island of Hawai‘i, where craftsmanship, creativity, and community flow together like the tides. Today, we carry that same spirit here in Dana Point, California, blending island heritage with coastal California style.

About the Makers

I’m Tyler Craig — artist, craftsman, and designer behind Makau Makers. What started as a love for woodworking and creating custom furniture has evolved into a lifestyle brand that celebrates artistry in all forms — from handcrafted wood pieces to coastal-inspired apparel.

My wife and I built Makau Makers as a reflection of the life we love — the kind of life that’s centered on ocean breezes, surf sessions, good music, and comfortable style that feels like home.

Our Style

Makau Makers apparel is designed for comfort and authenticity — streetwear meets surf culture. Each piece reflects our coastal lifestyle: relaxed, effortless, and made for those who live close to the sea or simply love the feeling it gives. Whether you’re wearing one of our shirts in the workshop, on the beach, or out with friends, it’s meant to feel good — because that’s what Makau Makers is all about.

Our Purpose

We’re not just making clothes or furniture — we’re creating a way to connect with coastal living and the craftsmanship behind it. Every product, from our handmade wood designs to our apparel line, carries the same soul: made with care, inspired by the ocean, and rooted in local culture.

Thank you for being part of our journey.
